Pisco was good. Ambient music was amateurish violinist. But not unwelcome. Good authentic food. Authentic Peruvian service. More

This is what a Sunday Brunch is supposed to be. An opportunity to relax, converse, and eat an expressive choice of good food, prepared well, and while being attended to by friendly staff. My friend and I visited the resort buffet, after casually searching for a good brunch place in Tucson, for years. I finally decided to search in earnest and all signs pointed to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort as the place to get what we’d been looking for. We sampled everything from the breakfast area to the bbq and everything in between. We were both satisfied that this is now are Sunday Buffet go to. Yes, it costs more than what’s available elsewhere in Tucson for a brunch buffet style meal. But, at least I know I’m getting all that I want in a brunch. More

Went for the $50 Monday night Filet and Lobster special. My date did the filet and king crab for $10 more. We split the crab and lobster so we could have both. Steak and lobster were excellent. Crab not so much. Kind of bland and only one small leg. We were asked about the steak being cooked right, which it was, but never asked about the crab or lobster. Suggest they should add some veggies to the plate. We used our dine in reward for the meal but were told that they wouldn't honor out gift cards in combination with the special promotion. Very disappointed about that! More

Discover Tucson

Considering that Tucson is the birthplace of the chimichanga, it should come as no surprise that Mexican restaurants are prolific in this city. Tucson falls right on the edge of the Sonoran Desert, and the cooking style in the city represents what's popular throughout this desert region. Sonoran dishes are typically based on beans, corn tortillas, cheese, peppers, and meat. Of course, although Tucson is distinctly Sonoran, it is also American, and that means you're sure to find a melting pot of cuisines within the city. When you're ready to branch out from Southwestern fare, try seafood or steak. Thin-crust pizza hits the spot when you want a familiar dish, and to top off your meal, homemade gelato is a local favorite.
