Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is a tapas restaurant that's been around for a long time. It's ideal for a lot of occasions.
I like to try new places when I’m in Chicago visiting my daughter. We were able to get a reservation for the same day, surprising for a Saturday night. The place was very busy but we were seated on time, and our drink orders were promptly taken. We ordered appetizers which were delicious. Our waiter was attentive but let us take our time to decide on our next course. For a busy Saturday night we did not feel rushed, and were able to linger and enjoy. The dishes came out in stages and we did have to ask the status of 2 of our tapas, but they were served quickly soon after. Food was flavorful, and the atmosphere was lively if a bit loud. Would recommend and would go again.
We had a great time! Food was excellent and our server was attentive and accommodating
Food and sangria was excellent, service at the bar was a bit lacking but our waitress was very attentive and brought us a glass of champagne on the house at the end of our meal.
Great food for when my mom comes to town. Paella is phenomenal!
Great food as always great prices
Great meal and service, and the atmosphere were fun. Reservations are a MUST here, and we were there on a Monday night!!
The Bloody Mary bar is good and $10 glass of vodka seemed appropriate. We asked for another table since we were shuttled to the back room. A little too dark for Mothers Day brunch. We did get a different table and it was better but not great. Tables in the original part of the restaurant are in my opinion better. The place was busy, service good but very dirty. Floor was slick and there was trash from the trays very visible on the floors. Kind of gross and not sure anyone was really paying attention to that end of the service. We were given a $10 coupon by the manager to use at a later date. Would have been nice if they gave the mom's a pre-made simple dessert choice instead of a coupon. Tacky........like the floors!
It was a special occasion - Mother’s day. The restaurant has great reviews and I decided to bring my mom. Can’t complain about the food, it was good. The service was just terrible! The waiter did not listed carefully and resulted bringing one salad instead of two. I was sitting for another 10 minutes waiting for my salad. We were waiting then for 15 minutes before our desert arrived. It was sitting on a counter awaiting someone to pick it up. And another guy stepped in to check us out. Overrated place, was not great choice for the Mother’s day. Won’t be back.
We love coming here and we got a last minute reservation fo Mother's Day. We were nervous that our 9 year old wouldn't be a fan but he loved it. It was great and the service was top notch
This is a great restaurant. This is my fourth adventeure here and it is always perfect. The food is great. The portions are wonderful. There is great ambiance, and of course excellent service :)
We went for Mother's Day breakfast and there was something for everyone! Only downside was that several of our dishes came out just lukewarm rather than hot, which affected the flavor a bit. Otherwise it was a lovely meal with good service.
Café Ba Ba Reeba is the place to go for any and all occasions. They steady hit it out the park with their service, ambiance, and best of all their food. Just Go!!!
Great spot! Great food and fun atmosphere. Close to the train and in a nice area to walk around. Friendly, knowledgeable wait staff.
Wonderful staff, wonderful food, always a consistent positive menu and I thank you for all of everyone’s hard work! I’ll be back :) cheers
The food was unbelievable. Top quality service. A wonderful evening
Awesome atmosphere! The meatballs and Brussel sprout salad are incredible.
Great food and service. Wonderful evening.
Great tapas and atmosphere! I have come here 2-3 times this past month alone. I am addicted to their food. The sangrias are super good as well.
Didn't know what to expect, heard good things from co-workers. Definitely coming back. Good food, great service, price is very reasonable.
Awesome place. All other tapas is put to shame.
My family loves this restaurant! The food is consistently good and the service is great. It is a good place to go when you have 6+ people because you can get a taste of so many different items off the menu. Weekends they have a Bloody Mary Bar that is a must!
Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Chicago.
Fun vibe, delicious food.
One of my favorite local restaurants. Love everything about it.
Best place ever hands freaking down. Will let others know to come here too
We have been here twice before and had a wonderful experience, regarding service and delicious food. We went there for a special occasion this past week while entertaining friends from out of town. They did a great job accommodating our request for having a quiet spot so one of our guests with a hearing loss could be involved in our conversation.
In our opinion, our server was short and condescending . An example was we ordered a bottle of wine ( it was half price bottle night). She told us they had run out and couldn't find anymore. We all ordered an alternative. When bringing a glass of wine ordered by the glass, the server stated that they had found the bottle, but since I already ordered the wine by the glass, she said"oh well".
We ordered paella. It was bland and would not recommend .
We asked for separate checks as food allergy and personal taste dictated we order our own plates in lieu of sharing plates which is what a tapas bar usually does. She seemed very "put off" and irritated by our request and stayed: "We usually do not do this, but for you we will make an exception". She repeated this three or four times.
We were going to the theatre nearby after dinner. It was a very warm day and did not want to leave our leftovers in the car. We asked if we could have ice added to our leftover contra or. Our server told us that was not possible. We asked her to check with the management . She said again they would not do so. We asked again, and she said again, they would make an exception , and they would save our leftovers in their fridge.
When we came back to get our food, and were greeted proffesionally and given our food.
Amazing food! Amazing drinks (loved the sangria, super fresh and summer-y)! Service was great and it was pretty reasonably priced for Tapas.
Our first time there. The food and service were excellent. We were very pleased.
The food was good . The restaurant is skittle but noisy.
For brunch, lunch, or dinner - a great Chicago spot for over three decades.
Good food but overall very rich, regardless of what we ordered. Makes you wonder if they can prepare food not relying on high amount of fat and salt that is yet more satisfying
We made a reservation and had to wait an hour. The manager was offering charcuterie boards to other people (apparently we didn’t wait long enough?) as an apology and I overheard him say that they had a private event that set them back. Still, it was disappointing to have made a reservation and still have a significant wait.
My friend is from Spain and we were all in town this weekend. He really enjoyed the authenticity of the tapas-style dining. The sangria and food were amazing... as always!
Service was great. It was a busy night, which I think it normally is. Our reservation was 15 minutes behind. But they seated us as soon as they could and gave us a free dessert trio on the house for the inconvenience. It was loud so you do have to speak up a bit. But the food was good, it was my first time visiting. I would definitely be returning, but maybe for lunch when it would be less busy and more quiet.
Despite making reservations weeks in advance, there were no tables available when we arrived. The whole restaurant, including the bar where we waited, was so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation with anyone we weren't directly next to. After more than 30 minutes we still weren't seated (with not even an apology from the staff for keeping us waiting) and we decided to leave instead. An utterly disappointing experience.
Service was superb! Atmosphere is lively. We tried six items. Four were terrific. One was really good. The lamb was not a hit...and I love lamb. The short rib was to die for!!!
Buen restaurant, comida y atención 100% recomendable
Great reliable spot for when you are craving tapas. Always very consistent food and service. The only downer was the noise level was a bit much. Some sound absorbing panels might be a good idea. I wouldn't label it energetic, I would just call it too loud!
Despite making a reservation, they were 30 minutes behind to seat us. It seems like they knew this would be an issue, but never bothered to call me and let me know ahead of time. They then texted to tell me the table was ready, so we rushed to finish our drinks and pay our tab, only to arrive back at the restaurant to wait another 10 minutes to be seated. The food was great, but the beginning of our experience was very disappointing.
