Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Very nice place for a great steak and wonderful service.
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! It is our go-to restaurant when we visit Chicago .
The food was amazing and our server was top notch, he made our dining experience exceptional! Thanks Marco!
We had a rather bad time at Chicago Cut for our anniversary. First, I had asked for window seat and we ended up next to the kitchen. The service was really slow and the room noisy. Someone kept snatching the wine list from our table before we had a chance to look at it. Our starters were good, but my husband was disappointed with his steak. I liked my lamb chops, but couldn't eat them all. The staff was kind enough to cut them up for me as I had trouble with the knife. I asked to take the lamb chops home and a guy asked me if wanted all of it (meat and bones), I said "just pack the meat." When we got home I looked and it turned out I had a box of bones. How could make such a blunder? All that delicious meat wasted.
The did offer us chocolate cake for our anniversary, but we didn't want it.
You're paying for the location. There is better value with similar food elsewhere. I had one request for my daughter's birthday which was a window seat that was disregarded.
Our waiter, Julio, was exceptionally attentive and treated us as if we were special guests. We would definitely go back. Food was delicious and the service was impressive.
We had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. It was a special evening and thanks to Chicago Cut for being a huge part of it.
Been to Chicago Cut many times for business lunches, never for dinner. It's a standout for business lunch with fast efficient service. I find the place a bit noisy and they could spare a few tables as exiting can be a bit of a maze the tables are squeezed in so closely together. As for food and service, all very good -- I had the shrimp chili (one of a couple soups of the day)-- very tasty. I also had a lunch portion of the lobster salad which was also very good and generously tossed with lobster pieces and a yummy dressing. My colleague had, as usual, the skirt steak with onions which he is always very pleased with so it must be good. Service was readily available and on point. I recommend.
The food was average. The waiter had the worst Brest and was a VERY close talker it was an awful time.
Fantastic!!!!! Everything you expect at a fine establishment.
Went with friends to enjoy some delicious food. Arrived early for the reservation so we sat in the bar for a while. Bar service was pretty good although the old fashioned came out suspiciously quick. And it tasted like it came out quickly. Not bad just bit great. Food was very good. I had the Cajun spiced bone in ribeye. Was top notch for sure. Cooked to absolute perfection. Service in dining room was barely average. We commented on that as a table which is odd to be honest. Most high end steak houses have exceptional service but our waitress was barely average at best. Dining area is a bit noise and is kind of over crowded. Have to weak your way in and out to get to the bathroom. Overall I’d come here again for the delicious food.
The food and service were absolutely WONDERFUL. My partner and I often split all courses due to us wanting to keep calories in check, but the staff was immediately understanding and accommodating. We shared the French onion soup, bone-in ribeye, brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and a complimentary dessert. Everything was absolutely spectacular!
Our one complaint was that, due to the dining room being a single space, the noise levels were *ridiculous* to the level that we could not carry on a normal conversation for our date night. Neither she nor I are hard of hearing, it was merely so loud with general conversation that things were a dull roar. Definitely good for a friendly gathering, but perhaps not a date on a Saturday night!
If you're interested in trying out a nice decent steakhouse in Chicago this is certainly once place you should try. You'll encounter a very standard menu that you see in most other steakhouses but the location of the restaurant near the river bank makes for a nice view and the ambiance is top notch. Can't complain about the wine list either.
Even though I have mentioned our anniversary during the reservation we were given a table at the very end of the restaurant. This is how you loose business and get bad review if you do not pay attention to the reservation notes. Our server was an amazing person and he did not charge for the dessert. The food quality was below avarage this time in compare to my previous experience.
The dining experience was fantastic. From the moment we arrived everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. A shout out to our waiter Sheldon for his dinner long focused attention. Our meals were delicious and the steak cooked perfectly. The NY strip was one of the best I ever experienced.
Perfection in every way, on every visit! Frank(server ) is 10** amazing! Thank you for such a great experience.
We had another wonderful meal at Chicago Cut and will be back soon
I don’t mind spending a lot for a really good meal, but I was highly disappointed in Chicago Cut. What the food lacked it more than made up for in cost. I have had substantially better meals for substantially less money in better environments. They crammed a LOT of tables into a relatively small space that made it very loud on top of everything else.
Great service, awesome food, lively atmosphere for a traditional high-end steakhouse. Only complaint was that it seemed like there was a lot of service traffic between the tables that were in the middle of the room because the aisles are narrow. There was often someone squeezing behind our chairs delivering/removing drinks and plates.
The steaks were just okay. Sides (truffle potatoes and lobster Mac) were unbelievable. The service on the other hand was on another level. I have been to many steakhouses across the country/world and Matt our waiter was amongst the top that I’ve seen. Second to none. Wow is all I can say.
This place lived up to all my expectations as the steaks were outstanding along with the service and ambiance. This is a fine high end steak house that is perfect for special occasions.
We have been wanting to eat at Chicago Cut for a long time now. We finally made that happen and the steak did NOT disappoint. It was heavenly. The service was excellent. We will definitely return!
Great service, atmosphere, and live music. The food was average - my steak was cold and my lobster tails were tiny. The Brussels sprouts were cooked very well. Overall a lovely dinner but I don’t need to rush back.
I don’t have much to say as all was great! Went for my birthday and I’m glad we decided to go there. Food was delicious, the place was very nice and service was great! Definitely will go back when I go to Chicago.
We were on holiday from Ireland, the staff made us feel very special.
The food was fabulous and the service was impeccable.
Good food, very expensive. Dinner for 4 with drinks over $600. Wasn't anything over the top or must come back for.
Tables are super close together. We were packed in like sardines. Could hear every conversation around you. The waiters could barely get around. My filet was extremely dry, no au jus on the plate. Very disappointing for a steakhouse and the price point. Crab Mac and cheese was delish and so was the chocolate cake.
The server asked for dietary restrictions - we had someone that was lactose intolerant so his risotto was said to be vegan. It arrived with dairy, instead of asking to return it he asked to get it to go to bring home for his family. The servers threw it out.
I emailed the restaurant but haven’t heard back. Considering how expensive the restaurant is, the whole experience was so disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are so many better steakhouses in the city.
The food was senstaional. Scott, our waiter was fabulous!! He made our 33rd Anniversary the best one yet. We ordered the the Bone In Ribeye and shared it. Salad and the Truffle Oil Potatoes. We had leftovers and it was still amazing as it was 2 nights ago.
Amazing! Start to finish. The food is delicious. The view is beautiful.
Best meal we have ever had. Service was top notch and food was even better!
Food, service and view - amazing. The only thing that was even slightly lacking was the cocktail. Basically a cosmo...subpar compared to everything else.
Food and service were awesome!!
Amazing meal with amazing service
The food has always been amazing here. But on Christmas Eve it was just average. Not the typical Chicago cut quality. The service was fantastic as always.
As usual, everything was outstanding. Christmas Eve dinner at Chicago Cut is one of our favorite family traditions.
Took my mother for Christmas Eve. The only turn off was the waiter. He came off arrogant and cold. I would have at least liked for my 85 year old mother to be treated with a tad more care.
Always Consistently Great
