Always a wonderful venue for a great meal and great conversation. The various menu options are both broad and of impeccable quality. Fresh fish and seafood along with sensational steaks make this a keeper. We were there for my birthday meal and they even brought me a nice little after dinner treat to celebrate the birthday. Always great and you won't regret this choice! MoreOpenTable Diner -
Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
Minneapolis's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
It was our first time dining in this week with my children and husband. It was for my 38th birthday. The food was great and the service provided by the waiter was wonderful! However, the two hostess at the front were not that friendly. And before they seated us down, I noticed the hostess removed a bowl of candy before she sat us down. I was a bit confused if it was because we weren't worthy of the candy bowl. That would be my only complaint. And when we left the hostess did not thank us for coming or acknowledge us leaving. At least say thank you or wish us a nice day. It's about the best customer service especially at an upscale place. If you want people to come back then give the best and friendly customer service to customers. The table also had confetti for the special occasion and the waiter brought a happy birthday plate for me which was very much appreciated! Thanks to the waiter, we had a positive experience! Thank you! MoreOpenTable Diner -

a Japanese Restaurant Kado no Mise serves Japanese fare that is simple and delicate - true to the tastes and form that Chef Furukawa learned when he first started cooking professionally in his hometown of Tokyo, Japan. Every meal, including our nigiri, sashimi, and maki, is carefully hand-crafted from a select choice of fresh, local and Japanese ingredients in the true Edomae style. No derivatives. No extrapolation. Kado no Mise, which translates to “Corner Restaurant,” located at 33 North First Avenue, Minneapolis, MN - Main Floor.More
a Kaiseki Restaurant Kaiseki is a form of Japanese cooking that draws its philosophy from tea ceremony traditions in 16th-century Kyoto, Japan. At its core is the belief that we are at our best when we experience every moment with one another as if it were a once-in-a-lifetime gathering. As a culinary expression, Kaiseki is a reflection of the season—an intricate rhythm of taste and texture brought forth in a progression of courses. Kaiseki Furukawa’s founding chef and co-owner, Shigeyuki Furukawa, was born in Japan and became a Kaiseki chef in Tokyo. He then moved to Kyoto, so he could work directly with master Kaiseki chefs to cultivate a still deeper understanding of the cuisine. It has been Chef Furukawa’s lifelong dream to bring the pure form of this cooking to his own restaurant. After five years in development, Kaiseki Furukawa opened in 2017 at 33 North First Avenue, Minneapolis, MN, Second Floor.More

Discover The Twin Cities
Yes—a frigid Minneapolis winter evokes stews and soups and hearty, gut-warming fare, but the food scene in this formerly industrial city has gained steam in recent years, with a burgeoning community of excellent chefs, craft coffee and beer, and Nordic style to accompany the culinary traditions of the region’s immigrant community. You’ll find lefse—a traditional Norwegian flatbread made with flour, potatoes, milk, and cream, akin to a latke of a sort—creatively topped and, while meat is central (this is the midwest, after all), river fish and ingredients foraged from surrounding wooded areas lend diversity to the new Minneapolis menus. A number of new but now iconic restaurants have set the tone for how the twin cities’ keep up with the trends, though the two are more fraternal than identical these days, St. Paul taking a slightly more classic, mom and pop shop vibe.
