New iteration of this restaurant makes it worth your visit. Simple dishes done very well including home-made pasta (you can really tell). Get the Montalchino wine - a bargain and so fine. We enjoyed the Zeppoles for dessert. The changes are a major step up.
I’ve been eating at Osteria Pronto regularly since it opened. The new OP Italian has literally left a bad taste in my mouth and I doubt I’ll ever be back. No free bread, the menu has changed, along with the flavors of the food. The prices have increase, but the food hasn’t. Very sad to see one of my favorite restaurants take a turn towards the wrong direction.
Great service, and the food was good. Luckily we came early, so it wasn’t overcrowded
Our server was very attentive and kind. The food was brought to us promptly and was very tasty.
Overall great great service and atmosphere.
Disappointed in the new menu. The old menu was fantastic and we were looking forward to it. New menu is just so-so and very limited.
Service was good but not knowledgeable. Seemed to be many new employees that didn't know the menu well.
We had to slow the server down a bit as they tried to rush us.
Delicious food, great place. Highly recommended. Must try their meat balls appetizer.
Amazing cooks and food! Waiter was very energetic and help set mood
My original reservation was for 8 PM, and when we needed to come earlier, they could not have been nicer about getting us a table. Jasmine was a very personable and efficient server. Food was good!
Food was poor and tasteless.
The food was horrible. It was cold, over cooked, not as described on the menu. We were 5 people and we all said the same thing.
The hotel recommended this as a “high end Italian restaurant” their definition of high end is very different than ours. It was horrible.
I visited for dinner recently and had their Spicy Italian Sausage Rigatoni which was very good. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was nice. Only down side was that bread does not come with the dish--garlic bread must be purchased separately--not good.
Overpriced and altogether underwhelming. Three of us ordered a "restaurant favorite," the short rib gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce. The sauce had little flavor and the short rib was all fat. It was like eating an expensive but less impressive version of kid's mac & cheese. Our server was good, although the hostess, the actual service itself and overall vibe of the place was very much an "I don't care" attitude.
Friends had slow service at lunch the day before but commented that the food was tasty so we tried it for dinner. Very pleasant team but we were two of the only customers in the restaurant at the beginning of dinner shift and everything was slow after the initial drink order. We only had one course and it took a solid hour. Worse, both of our steaks were over cooked (barely a hint of pink is not medium rare!). Manager checked on us proactively and we gave the feedback but explained that we did have time to deal with starting over. Like our waiter, she was very pleasant. Waiter offered to comp our desserts but we weren’t hungry enough to try anything and we were out of time. In the end he comped one of the steaks. He did about the best he could given the situation but one has to think there are bigger issues at this restaurant give the pace at the start of a shift, and the pattern day over day of the same slow service.
This experience was top notch. We are family that eat at great restaurants quite frequently and from the front door staff to the assistant server and the server everything was absolutely perfect. Food was incredible, service was fantastic and the value was right on the money. Truly an exceptional experience
Everything was excellent but the garlic bread is outstanding!!!!
Dinner: Underwhelming food (for the price), quite friendly, but very poor service. Sometimes one might have the experience of a great waiter with zero personality, this was the *opposite*.
I recommend instead, the sports bar at JW... great service, mixed drinks excellent.
My favorite place to eat in Indianapolis. Great service and great food.
The service was great as was the wine. The food however I found extremely over salted and something I could make at home. Not very imaginative fr the level of restaurant I though it was going to be.
The pasta was excellent. Service was a little lacking, but fair.
Tiny portions for the price. Salad had wilted lettuce and the Prosciutto in it was disgusting. I dropped $275 and left the restaurant hungry and unhappy.
The veal piccata was delicious! We came for NYE and it was outstanding.
Food was pretty good, not awesome. Wonderful ambiance and great attention from all the staff. Our waiter, Zach, was superb!
Perfect, nice but casual. Had pizzas which were great. Waitress Cory was awesome, great service and very personable. Entire staff was excellent. Whether at JW or just in area, add this place to your list.
Spent The Weeknd in Indy. It was too chilly to leave the hotel we opted for one of the restaurants at the JW. We were surprised at the quality and service from Osteria. They were very busy but the servers did a great job and were on top of things. The food was more northern Italy and typical itlatian. Food was great and we both enjoyed the sea bass and salads that we ordered. They have a great wine list with most from old world but some new world wines. Would definitely come back
Consistently reliable for what it is — a solidly Italian restaurant. Also they were very accommodating since it was a sold out night and I had to add one guest changing from 6 to 7 last minute.
Waiter’s service was outstanding. Food was very good. Had the meatballs for an appetizer and chicken parmigiana for the main dish. Waiter arranged for two plates with our shared main dish.
My son and I had dinner there before an event and were very happy with our choice. We enjoyed the gulf shrimp as an appetizer, which was very tasty! My son got the spaghetti and I the chicken parmesan and they were both delicious! The service was great as well! The restaurant was pretty full and the noise level was not a problem as we were able to converse without problem.
The food and service were fantastic. We were quite impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We especially appreciated our waiter having a good knowledge of the wine list and interesting facts about the Chianti region in Italy.
Being that it was a game night and the restaurant could have staffed for the event, we were disappointed that we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for one pizza. Not our first time to eat there, but the first we have been so frustrated .
We went to celebrate our anniversary, our first date was Osteris when it opened. Food was not as great as we remembered. Sea Bass was VERY fishy. I have worked in broad line distribution and know food quality. Husband spaghetti was over powering wish seasoning in the meatballs.
The food was perfect. The manager made a wine selection that was perfect.
I was disappointed with my entree - the Straw and Hay. Very underwhelming! Was very gloppy and had very few peas and very few pieces of the lardo. A very boring pasta dish!
Service was impeccable, food was great. Will visit again.
None of the above catagories apply to me. I would recommend to a friend because the food was good.
Other than that the noise level was far to noisy.
Very friendly staff who were all attentive to you
Excellent service and friendly staff, great salads, but the pasta was over cooked. Sent it back and second time was no different. Please teach the chef how to cook pasta. Otherwise it’s a really nice place with an excellent staff
Nice hotel restaurant, great food.
Osteria Pronto offers a nice alternative to most of the fare near the Indiana Convention Center: upscale-ish Italian with very good vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, including GF pasta. We had salmon and chicken parm, both of which were very good, with surprisingly ample portions. Reasonable prices, locally sourced, busy but reasonable service, pleasant and satisfying meal.
Would like to recommend that the chef warms the plates and bowls before serving the food. Pasta served in a cold bowl cools quickly and is not as pleasant to eat. Was very noisy in restaurant even with only 2 people trying to converse.
