Angry Pig Tavern
While the name Angry Pig, may lend to the assumption that our menu is Pork heavy, we have many options. Such as American Sea Bass, Duck Tacos, Salads and a delicious array of shareable apps that shouldn’t be missed!
Our Brunch special is the best in Chicago and cannot be beat! $35 for any entree and bottomless Bloody Mary’s, Mimosa’s and Shorts Local Light Lager!
Brought my daughter and male friend. Had the cheese plate first, and that was a great start for 4 people with 3 cheeses that were featured on the chalk board with other goodies. Then each of us had differenct dishes and none of us were disappointed. I had the scallops which were good. Someone had the grilled cheese, which was very affordable and good. The girls took half their meals home since couldn't finish. We had wine but instead of bottle they had their house Malbec in a keg, so had a caraff and the wine was different but very good. With 20% tip, it cost us about $45 each which is not bad with wine and cheese plate, plus 4 meals.
It was busy on New Years Day! The food is whatever but somewhere to eat I guess
Loved it. Great quality food and kind and helpful staff. I cannot wait to go back!
Eclectic menu with extensive beer selection including PBR for this older simplistic guy. Wish I’d tried the burger. Same meat supplier as au chaval. They messed up my duck tacos but responded very well. Waiter and service attitude 5 star.
We stopped into the Angry Pig for drinks at the bar and dinner before a show at The Den theater. the bar Happy Hour was great and the Popcorn appetizer was delicious! dinner was very good but once we got tot he dining room service was a bit slow. I would recommend for the Happy Hour for sure but give the dining room a chance as well as the food was very good.
From the overal atmosphere to the excellent food to the friendly attentive serve Angry Pig Tavern is every bit a 5 star dining experience!
The food was mostly good, and plentiful. The fish and chips was the highlight - really crunchy outside but also soft and fresh flaky fish I side. I don't think anything was out of this world (except the awesome beer selection!) and our server forgot our salad. It wasn't on the bill, but it's kind of annoying to just totally forget a whole dish. And it's not like they were very busy. Overall it was okay and we will probably try it one more time.
The service was pretty bad but I think the server may have been oversat so I understand that. However, despite that, she was pretty rude and as a server myself, thought her attitude still could have been better. However I understand there are bad nights and maybe we just caught her on one.
The food, however, no excuse. It was terrible. The fish and chips was the worst I’ve ever had. Ever. The duck tacos were dry, thicket burger over cooked, ceviche had no taste. Overall, just a crappy experience- I’ll don’t recommend unless you want to watch the game and eat a burger (which is totally cool!) but I would t expect more.
This place is outstanding. Great vibe. Excellent menu selections
Great food, great atmosphere. Casual enough to wear jeans. Good place for a good meal!
Really had a great time here. Great service, fun vibe, food was really good. Mussel dish and burger were so good!
Nice venue with attentive staff. Gluten free accommodation is very misleading. They only strip down menu options by eliminating standard ingredients. Leaves the meal feeling kinda second class. Not an enjoyable memory.
Good bar food and decorations. Service was a bit slow, though.
They have a great menu but none of the food measured up to its description. Service was a little slow and we would have ordered another round of drinks if our waitress would have come around more often.
Phenomenal! The food is always great - creative and plentiful. This has become our go to place.
Good spot. Food was very good. Saturday dinner with my 13 year old son. We both enjoyed. He had the burger. It is huge and he loved it. Will return.
The food was ok, but the Mimosa's were a good deal. The server had no affect and was not happy to be working.
Very nice place for a birthday celebration. Staff was very accomodating and the food and portion sizes were great!
Had a relaxing several hours hanging and eating with friends here on a Sunday for brunch. Game was on quietly. Excellent food choices for 2 vegetarians and 3 meat eaters. Fair warning about the portions--you are full for the whole day! Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Made the experience even better than the food, and that is saying a lot!
Great spot for gathering with family or friends. Fun variety of food and drink.
Probably one of the best bottomless places in Chicago. The bloody Marys were very strong and refills were quick. Great entrées too especially for the price point.
Great space with modern but very warm decor on both the bar and the dining room sides. We went for the "bottomless Bloody Mary/Mimosa/Beer" brunch and it was well worth the trip. You get to pick an entry from the entire menu for the $29 deal and the bloody mary's were excellent. Get on in there and try it.
It was my birthday!! Thanks for hosting me!
Food was cold. Took 30 minutes just for someone to take our drink order. Horrible services.
Worth trying out. Won't be long before it is near impossible to get into this place.
We went with a group of 11 for my birthday and really enjoyed our experience. Brunch special was a great deal and everyone enjoyed their meals. They even brought out a birthday dessert. Great service and ambience. We will be back!
Love the atmosphere of Angry Pig. We both ordered old fashions which were delicious. The popcorn appetizer was to die for. Whoever thought to take popcorn and toss it in bacon, honey, and jalapeño, knew what they were doing. They give you a massive amount too. We also ordered the mushroom soup which came in an adorable cast iron bowl. It was flavorful, thick, and creamy. The jalapeño caesar salad was sub-par. I would return but opt for a different main course.
The food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about. I tried food people highly recommended. The wine was $20 for any bottle so that was good. No one was in the restaurant. Our waitress was nice but we didn't see her very much in the beginning. Rood presentation was nice. Nothing was bad but got the cost I think it could be better.
Great place, we go there regularly and it never disappoints.
Lovely birthday celebration. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
We loved the food and the service. We especially loved the fried Waffles with icecream.
This place was great. Our server was very attentive and friendly. My boyfriend and I brought our nephew and they were welcoming. Our server joked around with my nephew which was very sweet. We had the chicken and waffles, steak and eggs and a Kid's burgers. Everything was delicious, especially the fried waffle. Honestly, $29 for bottomless and an entree is such a treat. I will be there again.
The most “meh” experience of all time. The cocktails suck, but the fish n chips are good
Great experience! Moscow mules were super tasty. Would highly recommend the crispy burrata appetizer...to die for! Fish and chips were wonderful. Will be going back for sure!
Absolutely delicious food and wonderfully pleasant staff.
It was fine the food was good and the drinks were good bt service was just okay. It took us about 30 min to actually get our check and there were only about 5 others tables total in the restaurant so I don’t think it was because the sever was busy. The oysters were really, really good so that made it worth the trip. Service could be better but prices and drinks were good so that made up for the lack in service.
Fun place with awesome food. The service was lovely and attentive. And the food was unpretentious, but creative. A great time overall.
The ambiance and food were phenomenal. We waited a long time for our server...multiple times through out the night and didn't get the water we asked for. But overall it was a good experience. We'd definitely go back and hope for a bit more attentive service.
We hosted two millennials for a Saturday evening dinner. The offerings were not the run of the mill. And the vibe suited both generations with classic oldies playing and a sound level where you could hold a conversation. Loved the popcorn appetizer, avocado roll, duck tacos & delicious chicken. Servers were attentive. Solid meal with a reasonable enough bill.
