This spot is a real step down from the other restaurants that have occupied this space, both in terms of food and atmosphere. They’ve taken a beautiful historic building and put TVs everywhere. Instead of the exquisite and inventive food served up by Spring and Trenchermen now everything is overdressed and relies on fat rather than flavor. The servers are very nice but on my last visit one kept encouraging us to Instagram our food. Such a turn-off. I live around the corner so I’ve given this place several tries and I actually think it’s getting worse, not better. I won’t be back.
Very cool atomosphere inside! Being an old bath house, it sure cleans up nice! Very trendy menu for brunch. I tried the Avocado Anti-Hash and loved it! I will be back.
Took my 15 year old daughter here before a concert at the Subterranean. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Food was served quickly and tasted great. I had a couple drinks during dinner and they were very good also. Very nice and clean. And the portrait of Joseph Pulaski made it all the better. Your my boy “blue”!
Chicken Avocado rolls and frites were on point! Our server didn't give much advice on portioning and we ordered too much food, but would go back again nonetheless.
Good service, good value and atmosphere but not
Really great, friendly service. The food Angry Pig Benedict and CrabCake Benedict tasted as amazing as they looked! Plus I loved the decor, especially the random movie scenes from some of my favorite movies. My fave? Heath Ledger’s Joker.
Sunday early evening dinner. The duck tacos are amazing. Clean place, welcoming staff.
Angry Pig Tavern was one of our favorites during our weekend trip to Chicago. Had a fantastic Sunday Champagne Brunch with fabulous food and excellent mimosas! A for sure next time we are in Chicago!
Love this place. Great bar. Fantastic food. 2nd time and never disappointed.
We went for the bottomless Sunday Brunch for my friends Bday and it was so fun and great service...they were bringing us drinks before we even asked which I LOVE and brought over a compliementary bday dessert. I would reccommend this place for brunch ANYDAY!
Living in the neighborhood for the last few years I have seen this restaurant evolve from Trencherman, to Trench to now the Angry Pig. We made a reservation to go for brunch, were immediately seated, and the service was great. There were plenty of other tables available for those with walk-ins. At our table we had the corned beef hash -- which was so delicious, and I had the avocado anti-hash which was...interesting, not bad, not good but a really interesting combo (pineapple, avocado, eggs, mango, pomegranate, cheese etc.) that I am not totally sure I would get again. I get they were trying for something fresh but my unrefined palate did not care for the combo. Overall though, the ambiance and price points were good. Would be interested to try them again for dinner.
Great selection, excellent food, generous portions, very reasonable prices. Angry Pig is a terrific addition to the neighborhood!
Great brunch experience!! The chicken and waffles were the best thing I've ever eaten!
first time visit to Chicago, The Angry Pig Tavern was great, I had the fish and chips, it was a little salty for me, the waitress took it back, the chef came out to apologize and said he would make me another one. it was amazing so good. I am definitely going back on my next visit and yes I have told all of my traveling friends to add this place to their list.
Great food and service. I would go back in a heartbeat for honestly any type of occasion. Best charcuterie board I have ever had in my life! Nobody left disappointed with their meal
Ambiance and space was beautiful. Food was a bit lack luster, no flavor or spice. Heavy on sauces when not needed. Felt like the food could be bought at Costco and and baked from the frozen section.
Went to angry pig for brunch with a small group. The food was fantastic, the service was wonderful, and the value ($29 bottomless) can’t be beat! Unlike most bottomless places, they used good champagne not the trashy andres or cooks most places use. Only quibble was it was a beautiful day and it’s a mostly basement location. If they got a patio or porch it would be one of the best places in the city
Yummy food. Friendly service. Great value for brunch!
Best dinner I’ve had in a very long time. I never write reviews, but this restaurant deserves one! I will definitely be coming back!
The food was great but the host and wait staff was a bit pretentious and a little hard on the upsell. Perhaps it was inexperience or just an off day.
Best duck tacos ever! The homemade basil tortillas would have been reason alone to go back!
Unique menu. Great food. Great atmosphere
The Angry Pig Tavern is in a great location. Right off the corner of North Ave and Milwaukee in Wicker Park. Awesome place to grab dinner and drinks. The food is delicious and the ambiance is great. The pictures are the wall are amazing. I won't ruin the surprise but needless to say, they're very unique. I definitely recommend the Angry Pig Tavern.
Almost feels like a small town tavern but in all the good ways. Solid starters, sandwiches, and mains that fill your mouth with flavor and are creative enough to hold ground in the midst of Wicker Park’s deep culinary offerings. The selection of charcuterie give the option for a evening hang out with wine, beer, and cocktails for whatever you’re feeling. As it’s new, there are a few bumps still being ironed out - a miscommunication resulted in a late (but then given free) appetizer, and Shoestring French fries that quickly got cold and didn’t have enough crisp or salt to be worth finishing.
All in all, great place, hope it sticks around.
Fancier than I would have thought.
I love coming to Angry Pig! It is our new go to place to meet friends and have dinner. Sometimes date night but mostly dinner on our way home from work. The menu is large enough that I’m not ordering the same thing each time. I also love that this place could be a dressed up night out or a casual evening. This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!!
Great food and I recommend the ceviche appetizer. Would visit again!
Very good meal with out of town guests. Huge portions, maybe too big? But great solid place for a meal in the neighborhood.
The food was great and everything came out cooked perfectly. The cocktails and beer were also really good. Definitely will come back!
So happy the owners of Bridge House Tavern (R.I.P) opened a new place in Wicker Park. The food and service are still exceptional! The beignets are always so fresh and delicious!!! Huevos Rancheros was very very good and it’s a lot of food! It could easily be shared. Salmon Benedict was a delight as well. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent service and food was very good. Friendly, attentive staff.
The food was soooo good. I had the Hash and my husband had the angry pig Benedict. Both were amazing. The meat really makes the dish. The bacon on the Benedict was phenomenal with just the right amount of spice. What you’d expect from a ham specific restaurant. The mimosas are the perfect size and the bottomless mimosas are a great deal. Will definitely be back soon
Lots of interesting brunch menu choices. They offer a great bottomless mimosa deal that includes an entree.
Service was really good and food was outstanding
The food was nicely prepared, but overall too salty. We had the surf/turf (nice mushroom sauce, scallops were good), the bratwurst (good), salad and mushroom soup, fish/chips - all nice, just could be more interestingly seasoned. The chips were way over salted. Appetizers - pork belly (salty). Promising restaurant, but needs a little adjusting.
Really great spot! Awesome staff, food, location, and ambiance. Will definitely be back.
Outstanding food and service at an extremely reasonable price.
Nice people and the food was good. Dinning room was retro cool with interesting art. Probably could use a few more dinner options but what we had was tasty. Worth a return visit.
Good all the way around. Kyle, our served was great, food excellent, drinks very good. We’ll be back.
The place and environment is very nice, the service could have been a bit faster, but it was Saturday night so I guess it was busy. The food, hmm 1 appetizer was great the other okay, hamburger was great, the sandwich okay, in other words I wasn't impressed, but will try a second time just to to give a chance to change my mind.
