Fantastic! The onion rings and cheese cake are unreal! Terrific service!
Awesome dinner!!!! We came to Bare Bones to celebrate my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint! Delicious B.B. Shrimp, steaks, Mac n cheese....great dinner!
Nice to have such fine dining in Gwinnett! Don't have to go to Atlanta anymore!!!
I drove from North Carolina to visit a friend and to go to Bare Bones. My friend and I have been loyal customers since day one. The owners are special friends of ours. I have never had a disappointing meal at my favorite steakhouse. Our waiter, Ken, was a real joy.
We have been here several times and the food and service is always good. The steaks are always perfectly cooked. Definitely try the onion rings.
We loved Bare Bones steakhouse and will return. Everything was fantastic and made my 70th birthday a memorable one. The food was wonderful and service was perfect. Knowing the history of the building I think a steakhouse is a perfect business for the old saddle making room. We are looking forward to the next occasion when we will dine there again! If you go, be sure to try the Honey glazed bacon onion rings. They are spectacular!
Our waiter Matt was super knowledgeable about beer and he was great. My steak was over-cooked a bit- asked for pink, it was cooked past that; offered to replace but we wanted to eat together...
So glad we chose BBs for our anniversary! From start to finish, everything was first rate. Our server Leanna listened and made excellent suggestions and the chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. It's a bit noisy, but that is the nature of their historic structure. Having seen the building years ago when it was used for various endeavors, it was great to see the elements that were retained. Go....you won't regret it.
Best steak I have ever had! Cooked to perfection! Great Bourbon list as well.
It was beyond great food and some of the best wait staff I have yet to encounter. This place goes above and beyond for their costumers. Thank you Bare Bones for making my mom's birthday dinner special.
The steak is wood fired. The cut of meat was very lean, but was similar to shoe leather. There were zero spices, no flavoring, just burnt shoe leather. This was a waste of 100.00, a mistake I will not repeat. Our server was excellent and the atmosphere delightful.
Best steak in town!
A great place for dinner out with friends, but be prepared - it's very loud on Friday nights!
The location in downtown Buford is terrific - open and airy and it carries a great vibe on weekend nights - but there is nothing to absorb sound, thus I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date night for sure. But the service is outstanding, and the steaks are good and reasonably priced.
Overall loved it, I actually went back because the value was great. Both times my steak was undercooked. I ordered it medium rare and both times it was a cool red center. I think they must cook on the rare side. The first time I sent it back it came back overdone but I didn’t want to wait for a new one as I was eating with someone who had almost finished by the time mine came back. The 2nd dining experience I sat at the bar. Medium rare was described as warm red center again. I ordered it thinking it was just a one off but the steak came and it was a cold red center. Sent it back twice to get it right. Anyways I would still go back because the value for what you get is great, loved the ambiance and it’s not a stuffy place.
Great all around food & service! We will be going back!
Everything from the wine, meal and dessert was amazing! We ate so much we were miserable because everything tasted so good! The service was excellent, giving us plenty of time between courses but not spaced too far apart. I would highly recommend Bare Bones Steakhouse!
Disappointing. Previous experiences were much better.
Our second time eating there and it was great both times. Rachel was our server and she did an amazing job.
Second time dining here with my family. Our daughter is 12 and son is 13. We were notified pretty promptly by the waitress that they have a strict 10 and under kids menu. I don’t know many preteen kids that can eat an adult meal but we ordered accordingly and had tons leftover. The first time we dined there was no mention of the rule and our kids were given kids menus. It felt rude and tacky the way she approached us and told us. It was uncomfortable and I don’t know if we will be back.
The look of the place is deceiving. The food and service was phenomenal. Our waiter Brendon was awesome and well versed on the different steaks and the menu in general. The onion rings left us speechless and is an appetizer you must try. This was my first time there and we will definitely be going back.
Steak was delicious and it was a very comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
Food and service very good, noise level a bit high. Nice selection of drinks and some interesting food specials. Food was brought at a reasonable pace and was hot and delicious. French onion soup was outstanding and plentiful.
The best steaks in all of Georgia, hands down! Prepared to perfection as ordered.
This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! 5 stars all the way from drinks to dessert.
The steak was good, the sides were mediocre. My wife salmon was ok, nothing special.
We have been here many times. Always loved it and sent many friends there. Tonight it was not the same. The French Onion soup was so unbelievably salty. Like over the top. Also my husbands steak was under cooked and had to send it back. It came back a bit better but it did not feel like it was a true filet. It was separating strangely and was still not done. :-(
Also when ordering my steak my waiter asked if I wanted to add mushrooms as a topping. I said sure! When they brought our food out, the mushrooms came out a few minutes later and not as a topping. But as a huge side. And then when I got my bill it was $10!! I was not real happy about that. He offered them as a topping but it was really an expensive side.
Now our waiter was awesome and service was great. But the food issue made us go, hummmm.
The food is good however the service is terrible. I've been there 5 times and 4 out of 5 the service has bad. You get our salad w/ dinner not in courses, I had to ask for fresh pepper which the reply was I'll see if I can find the pepper mill, we never saw a manager to see how things were. Honestly I don't think there's any supervision; if there is its very poor. Lastly we were never presented w/ dessert menus or asked if we wanted coffee. I think the staff is overwhelmed and if there was proper training & supervision it would be a great place but I'm not waiting fo that to happen were done with Baebares.
My husband’s birthday.
Steaks perfectly done. Generous portions. Bananas Foster to die for. Wonderful service. A real winner!
Excellent food. Would recommend the Prime steak selections.
Consider it the "Ruth Chris of Buford". Everything is fabulous!! Alex, our server, was great.
My steak was the best I have ever had!
I had never been here before, and let me tell you this place is amazing. I live only 10 mins away and this will be my new favorite place to go. The service is 5 Star, the drinks are perfect and the food is absolutely amazing. Use this for a date, birthday, nice family night out , whatever!! Just a wonderful experience all the way around. So glad I found Bare Bones
The dinner was great. We had the Chateaubriand, that melted in our mouths. Good wine selection. Mike recommended a glass of Crown Royal XO which was great with dinner. All in all a good experience.
Before I made reservations I checked out the reviews even though my friend said this was a great place to eat. There are many great reviews with a couple not so good. Upon arrival at Bare Bones I had concerns and I was on guard. I am happy to say we did not incur any of the problems that were written about. The parking is very convenient. Our reserved table was ready upon arrival. Hostesses were very friendly. Place is very active. Anthony was our great server. He was always on top of things. Our meal came out on hot plates and was delicious. We had the greatest onions rings for our appetizer. They were different and delicious. We had the Wedge half salad. It was delicious, cold and very fresh. The bone-in prime ribeye & 9 oz prime bacon wrapped filet almost melted in our mouth because they were so tender. All steaks were perfectly cooked to our order. So good and very tender. Make sure you order the “prime” meat because there is a choice. The manager and owner stopped by our table. Very nice people. Our party had a wonderful time and we had no problems. We are looking forward to our next dinner at Bare Bones. Thank you Chris for the surprise you gave us to take home!!
One of the best steak houses we visited; this was our second time and will be back with friends or family. Service is great and very attentive.
My girlfriend and I usually go down to one of the Buckhead steakhouses but we heard good things about Bare Bones so we decided to give it a try. We went in at 7pm only to find out that they were out of majority of their steaks. We ended up ordering the BB shrimp and caprese salad to start. Shrimp was delicious, and I liked the fact they had smaller versions of all their salads. For our entree, we decided to share a ribeye and a broiled lobster tail along with many sides. Now this is where things took a turn. The lobster tail came out cold, and the steak was luke warm to room temperature. Because we were so hungry, we just went ahead and ate half of the steak, but left the lobster tail after one bite. I was able to flag someone down and asked to just heat up our steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, and had good flavor, but we just wanted to enjoy it hot. I told the server that we did not care for the lobster because it was cold. She was nice about it but did not offer to cook another tail. Minutes later, the steak came back out and we were able to enjoy it hot. Then for dessert we ordered a banana foster which the server said that it would be on them. Then a man came out (I wasn't sure if he was a manager or not) came out and told us that because we were nice people he would give us a $15 discount on the corkage fee (which is $30, which I knew about) for the bottle of wine we brought. At the end I received the check only to find the lobster tail still on the check. When I asked the server about it he said that it was left on the check because they comped the dessert and gave us a discount on our corkage fee. The server gave us a whole pie of cheesecake before we left as well. Although I was not satisfied, I didn't want to cause any problems, so I just paid the tab and left. The server was nice and did a great job, but I believe it was the manager's decision to not take off the lobster tail. Maybe it was an off night, but I probably won't return.
My wife have eaten there numerous times. Wasn’t a super big deal they were out of half the steaks on the menu but my wife ordered chicken and it was super dry. I asked for no scallions on my baked potatoe and it almost looked liked they added extra. We ordered a app and the waitress asked if we wanted it out before our food and it did. We both took one bit of our app and our entree arrived. Very disappointed
We had a night out with the kiddos for my husband's birthday, and we were absolutely blown away by the service we received. Amazing place, amazing food. We will be back soon.
We loved our dinner!! The onion rings were unusual in a great way! We had bone in ribeye that was out of this world! Clay, our waiter, was fun, knowledgeable and just did an outstanding job!! We’ll go back👍🏼
