Bare Bones Steakhouse
Featuring PRIME RIB in addition to our regular menu.
Bare Bones is a classic steakhouse. We are located in the Bona Allen building in downtown Buford, Ga. You will experience the feel of the old saddlery and harness making shops that once occupied this space. We have a traditional restaurant and bar and also offer a comfortable lounge and additional space.
Fri, Sat 4:00 pm–10:00 pm
Sun 4:00 pm–9:00 pm
Best onion soup I’ve ever had. Our server gave me a great suggestion since I ordered prime rib. She told me to save some of the soup and drizzle it over the meat as an au jus. Wonderful flavor addition. My wife’s birthday dessert was a special treat. We’ll definitely be back.
Steaks were good. Side, salads and appetizers soso. They deducted creamed corn from bill ... was very disappointing. The quality of their food does not equal the priciness!!!!! Luckily had good company and attentive waiter.
My wife and I visited for our 26th anniversary and it was perfect, as usual! From the pimento cheese appetizer to the steak and lobster to the raspberry cobbler, once again Bare Bones proves itself more than worthy of the price! Thanks!!
We were celebrating an anniversary and wanted to go to a restaurant we have not been to yet. We were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately with our reservation. Both the hostess and waiter wished us a happy anniversary (when placing reservation it was asked if it was a special occasion). The atmosphere and design is awesome, with a mix of casual and formal dining sections. Our waiter made excellent suggestions for cocktails and explained the menu options well. Our dinner was truly amazing. We shared a Porterhouse steak cooked perfectly and the shared sides of grits and sweet mashed potatoes with homemade marshmallow was delicious. We were given a special dessert for the occasion which totally surprised us and really capped a wonderful dining experience. I would recommend Bare Bones Steakhouse to ANYONE. Thank you again for a relaxing and delicious dining experience to everyone there!
Restaurant is loud, but the food is good. Prices are a bit high.
I have eaten at every high end steak house in Atlanta and a few elsewhere. This was the best I have ever had.
We enjoyed it very much, our foos was delicious and our service from Kevin was spot on!
First timers but definitely last timers. Steaks were cooked to order and the sides were very good. Service by our server,Anthony, was excellent. Will recommend to all our neighbors.
Excellent food and extraordinary service. We will certainly return!
Excellent service and food! We came for our 5 year anniversary and they didn't disappoint. They knocked everything out of the park. The cheese grits were to die for, super creamy. We cant wait to go back and try other dishes.
Bare Bones has become our Special Occasion Place. The steaks are the best in North Ga. The service is great. We thoroughly enjoy and recommend Bare Bones.
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful but it was quite noisy and was very warm in the restaurant on our visit.
It was hard to have a conversation over the noise level.
Everything was good. I would go back and or tell a friend
Our third time dining at BB and each time has been one to remember. Our server on our most recent visit, Taylor, was very personable and helpful throughout our evening.
Our waitress, Levy was fabulous!! She was so attentive to all our request and had a bubbly personality. The ambiance was so relaxing. I would give this restaurant a A++++! Will definitely return!!
Bare Bones is probably the best steakhouse in Gwinnett. You get ATL quality without the drive! The steaks seem to be getting too much char lately though. Not sure if that is something that can be avoided with a special request.
While I didn’t check a lot of the boxes, it was good food and good service the night we were there.
Never disappoints. Steaks are delicious & perfectly cooked to order. Love dining there.
Once again our time spent at Bare Bones was exceptional. Good selection outstanding, our steak dinners cooked perfectly, the sides delicious. Wine selection is notable enjoyed a Stags Leap bottle of Hands of Time.... very flavorful!
Top it all off with an exceptional server....attentive, informative, yet never in the way. Great meal... will return again soon!!
Bare Bones has been our “go to” dining establishment for special occasions for the past 2 years. The steaks cannot be beat.. they are the best we’ve ever had!
We appreciate the special values on Sunday and Tuesday nights.
The service is excellent and the owners are devoted to achieving a 5 Star dining rating from each customer.
Really great food. Our waitress was very attentive. I had a daddy/daughter night with my 13 year old. She is a Type 1 Diabetic, and the waitress was very patient with us as we looked up carbs for me to administer her insulin. I know it sounds like a small thing, but this restaurant is very customer focused, and they seem to have created the type of place that they themselves would want to eat at. EVERYTHING on the menu is freaking delicious, and I love the old building.
Wonderful! We go often and Bare Bones never disappoints!
My wife’s steak was supposed to be medium rare, it came out rare, we sent it back and it still came back to rare, they did take it off the bill, she was really disappointed. My food was right on, I was happy. I hope to get her to try it again. The only reason I gave the food a 2 star was because of her steak.
BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD. THE SERVICE IS GREAT. LOVE IT.
We were seated quickly with our reservation, server greeted us promptly and took our order. We received our appetizer quickly and it was amazing. Best pimento cheese Ive had. My husbands cocktails were perfect. Loved that they leave a bottle of water on the table to refill our glasses. Food was delicious. Our steaks had a crisp outside and soft warm center. We ordered shareable sides which came with plenty to even take home with us. Dessert was served warm and my cobbler had fresh berries. We will definitely be returning.
Had a beautiful birthday dinner with my family. The food was delicious with lots of variety to choose from. Enjoyed the onion rings for a starter. They had shredded parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes with drizzled honey. We all had the special of the day ($29) which was New York Strip with 2 sides. We had various sides of green beans, home cut fries, mac&cheese, baked potato and mashed sweet potatoes. All of it was great! We shared two desserts. The brownie with homemade ice cream, and the blackberry cobbler. Both were also excellent. Portions were large on all. Would love to eat there again soon!! :)
Great Discovery steaks were a good value Highly recommend
This is our favorite restaurant and as usual, it met our expectations! We love the food at Bare Bones and Anthony's great service!!!
Really enjoyed ourselves. Food and service was great.
Six of us celebrated my parents’ 62nd Anniversary. Bare Bones made our visit wonderful! They seated us in an easily accessible, quiet area, allowed shared steaks, were attentive, patient and helpful. Onion rings are amazing, steaks and sides delicious and dessert served on a silver platter!
HIGHLY recommend them! Anxious to go back!
Bare Bones is a vibrant place, though a little too noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices a little bit. The food was very good---my medium steak was perfectly done! The garlic mashed potatoes was barely warm, however, when it arrived. When they brought out another to replace it, it was piping hot and quite delicious! So that was remedied pretty quickly and efficiently!
When the reservation was made, one of the questions asked was whether it was a special occasion. I responded that it was a celebration of my birthday, so I was thoroughly disappointed when there was no acknowledgement of it at all. I couldn't help but feel deflated!
We love Bare Bones and just went there for our 45th Anniversary dinner. Before we left the restaurant the server surprised us with a whole cheese cake to take home...totally awesome!
Serves prime steak and know how to prepare them. Side dishes are excellent as well. Craft beer and good selection of cocktails.
Great food! We’ll be back! Great value and quality, service was top notch!
My husband and I are regulars here and we love it. We took my in- laws for their 55th anniversary Friday night. Alex was our server and they were so impressed with him, as was I. He gave us the history of the building and described all the food perfectly.
Everyone had steaks except me and they all thoroughly enjoyed them. I always have the sea bass. It was tasty and cooked perfect as usual.
I order the asparagus with my meals. I prefer more green veggies than what is typically offered here. Only thing I wish they had was some mixed veggies steamed or broccoli or spinach without cream.
The service really made the night special and we really appreciated Alex.
We will see you all soon.
The food, service and atmosphere is super!! The history of the building is a very entertaining part of the experience as well.
Great appetizer and salad. Great steak and sides. Great service. Fun place.
Excellent dining. Service was exceptional. Prices
Very reasonable compared to same type dining in Norcross or Buckhead. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.
Will definitely return and bring friends with us.
Wonderful meal last Wednesday night with family. When we are in ATL to visit our son and we put Bare Bones on the priority list. All 4 of us love the steaks and fixing Bare Bones serves. Oh, the deserts are great also. Porterhouse and Filet's are our go to choices, but we always start with the Onion Rings which are sprinkled with grana cheese, honey and pepper flakes, yum! And for shareable sides, I highly recommend the Bacon Mac & Cheese, garlic mash and creamed spinach.
Service is also top notch at Bare Bones.
Celebrated my 60th birthday at Bare Bones! It was excellent we had a great server, Kevin. The food was excellent the cocktails were excellent I would highly recommend
