Beatrix - Fulton Market
Beatrix is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
The beverage program features fresh-squeezed juice cocktails, local craft beers, and all-American wines. The coffee bar showcases iconic Chicago roasters, Intelligentsia and Metric Coffee, and offers daily pour-over specials, Bulletproof coffee, and Nitro coffee, and an array of cookies and pastries from the in-house bakery
I normally love Beatrix but the cauliflower and grits were awful. We both had them and both thought it was awful. I’ve had that dish several times and it was good. We just didn’t feel like complaining, but it was really bad. No flavor at all.
My repeat fav brun h dish is Cauliflower grits and eggs
Wonderful in all aspects - service, food and valet.
Food was outstanding!
Everything was great – service, food, atmosphere, would definitely go back. One comment I would have is the street outside of the restaurant was so icy, it was like a skate ring. I know the beginning of November is not when we expect so much snow and cold but they could've cleaned the street, at least a bit, even if it was only a 2 feet-wide walk way. The restaurant next to Beatrix had done an outstanding job with that, the street was walkable.
Lovely experience! We are big fans of Beatrix and especially like this location. We were celebrating my mom’s birthday, and the server brought two dessert options to celebrate because he remembered my mom’s food allergy from ordering earlier. So thoughtful and appreciated!
Beatrix is a long time favorite for both business lunches and get-togethers with friends. The food is always great and I love the casual but energetic vibe.
That said, the Fulton Market location does not compare favorably to other locations. The main reason is the service - not attentive and borderline snotty. The not so subtle eye-rolls when asked to be seated at a different table. The inaccurate bills that take forever to fix. No, thank you.
Brilliant, as always!
Great food for brunch, excellent juice options. Would definitely recommend.
Very helpful with reservation check in. Food and service excellent. It is very loud and chaotic but the staff does its best to mitigate the noise.
Once again an excellent experience. Swordfish kebabs very tasty and light and fish n chips were excellent as well. Phil our server well versed, super polite and enjoyable.
We’ll be back!
Great waiter and excellent food! Quick !
Always a great brunch spot but the water glasses smelled like eggs. I get it, it all gets washed in the same dishwasher. We asked for a couple fresh water glasses citing the issue specifically, and our server just brought us ice water; as if the ice would mask the smell. It didn’t. We ordered tea. He should have checked for smell and just brought us some from the night shift or something.
Great place. Good foot and upscale atmosphere.
The host was one of the most rude and disrespectful individuals I have ever come across in a restaurant. Never have I been someplace where they wanted to turn down my money by delaying my seating. I requested to speak to a manager and that was never done. I had tickets to a show so I did not have time to deal with this in the moment. To top it all off, each meal came out luke warm and missing items.
Wonderful menu offerings, something different for everyone. Good price points. Unique cocktail & juice selections. We’ll definitely return to try more dishes!
Everything was great except our table not far from the door was a bit cold.
Great lunch. This is a nice atmosphere and food is always good with great service. I like this Fulton market location best. Beatrix is always good.
So happy to have brunch with friends - we loved the menu as much as the service ❤️
You know that time when you are still talking about your dinner the next day? Well, you can expect that after eating at Beatrix! Food was amazing, wine perfect, dessert (OMG!!) divine, service engaging, and ambiance that allows you to relax and enjoy the decor, setting and company. Not stuffy. Fit for foodies. Enjoy!!
Poor service, we needed to wait one hour to place our orders
Overall it was really good. We appreciated the healthy options on the menu. Service was good, maybe a bit slow getting started, but very friendly and helpful. A bit chilly sitting under the overhead air supply and a little more sound absorbing material in the restaurant would help the noise level. But, overall it was great and we’d return for sure!
The staff was amazing and accommodating. Salmon was delicious but lay on a bed of uninspired veggies, my partner in crime had the “Neatloaf” which was very bland and needed salt ( most people’s grandmothers cld easily make better meatloaf). Ambiance was beautiful but aggravated by poor music choice-while the average age of diners looked to be abt 40 the music was kind of loud and kind of Taylor Swift sounding. Perhaps tailoring the music to the vibe of the evening (Monday, bit of an older crowd) would have been wiser.
Not a bad experience but definitely a few tweaks wld have made it a stellar experience.
Beatrix (both Fulton Market and River North) is a regular haunt; I visit multiple times a month. The food is consistently stellar, and the value is unbeatable. However, the service at the Fulton Market location regularly falls short. Sunday's visit was particularly poor. We had to beg, multiple times, for utensils, napkins, and side plates. Hot coffee was spilled on my friend's arm. Dirty plates littered the table. Our server was irritated when we asked her to clear the dirty dishes. When it came time for the bill, we were given the wrong check. Once we received the correct check, our cards were charged incorrectly (we split it four ways, across four friends... one friend was charged $0.90). Again, I love Beatrix, and I'll 100% be back, but something needs to change at Fulton Market.
As per usual, I was very pleased with my visit to Beatrix! Since moving to Chicago, I have found this to be one of my favorite brunch spots. The food is consistently good, the beverage options are great, and the overall feel of the restaurant pleasant and relaxing! If I have any guests from out of town, I make sure to include Beatrix on our list of stops. Also, check out the bakery - there are great options for "on the go!" Do yourself a favor and check it out.
I always love Beatrix, it is a favorite go to restaurant for anytime. This past Saturday, My son (10) was very disappointed that we were given a brunch menu and doubly upset when he only saw one burger option. Our server was so gracious and patient that he was able to help my son customize a burger that lead to not a very cleaned plate but a request to to return again to have another burger. We will be back! As I was paying the bill my son reminded me to leave a really good tip for our great server.
Perfect spot to catch up with old friends!
I arrived later 20 minutes late for my reservation - and was told I was listed as a no show, and would have to wait 20 minutes for a table. It was close to 1 pm and there were plenty of open tables. They directed me to the bar, and when I sat at a table, I was told we needed to move and sit at the actual bar - no one sat there the entire time and the two tables next to it were open. It was a business lunch and was embarrassing to have to deal with. I would absolutely think twice about going there again for any business related meal.
Why in the world would you only have a brunch menu on Monday? Columbus Day is hardly a three day weekend for anyone in the city.
The food is good but the portions are slim. Service is very good.
This is the fifth time I’ve dined here and the service is consistently lacking. Full staff yet a total lag in checking in on our table after our main entrees. We had to flag down a hostess or other servers to refill our water and check on the sides that were missing from our order etc.
Excellent food and excellent service. Loved it!
Great food and atmosphere. Accommodating for my mother who has a disability and also brought out a complimentary cake for the birthday. All food was excellent, atmosphere was fun, and service was top notch. Thx
The wind outside was intense so the restaurant was cold. I ended up eating with my coat on-not too relaxing. We had two different chicken entrees. Pretty bland. Couldn’t tell one from another in a blind taste test! Wine was excellent and that’s a plus! I’d go there again to confirm my ratings, but this first visit was less than I expected. Great waiter tho!
Average food, okay service, but easy for a group with a nice ambiance and good menu choices
Great service, menu has a number of options, nice location.
Our special omelette was delicious and awesome. Service perfect, fresh ingredients, clean and fun people watching. Reasonable valet parking adds to the ease of dining here. Highly recommend this particular location
Overall good experience. The drinks were great! Our meals we ordered were just decent. Probably come back for drinks and appetizer.
The server was very knowledgeable and helpful. My friends and I were celebrating my birthday and I plan to return. It was a nice place with yummy food. Although I didn’t see any French toast which is the only negative.
Mediocre. Great server but food was average
Took my mother and godmother here a few days before my wedding. We each ordered something different and it was all delicious. The service was outstanding too! Definitely lived up to the hype. Can’t wait to return! Recommend the chicken meatballs!
