The room was a bit too "energetic" (I would say "loud") even at 5:45 on a Wednesday. I can't imagine trying to have a conversation at 7 pm on a Friday or Saturday.
Wait person inattentive, didn't know the menu (a surprise knowing we've seen the same person before, therefore not new), smelled of smoke. Drinks were delicious and manager did apologize for mistakes and food order delay. New menu eh.
Joy -- the waitress was great. Her knowledge of the food and great enthusiam was contagious. Food was very good too.
It was a fantastic evening for a girls night out. Our waiter could not have been more fantastic. He knew the cocktail menu and dinner menu backwards and forwards. He described each drink and dish perfectly the only problem was trying to decide which delicious items to order.
As it turned out the food was as good as the description!!!!
Will surely return!!!!
Surprised at the menu change - expected the old menu from our many visits in the past. Change OK - miss the menu items we loved.
City Mouse has great ambience. The server we had was really terrific - quirky sense of humor and stuck around to listen to my friend talk (on and on and on ; ). The food was delicious, I just don't happen to like the "order lots of small portions" style of dining. Their amuse bouche was $5 and it was a single piece of cheese. : 0 Love the location across the street from Google, but there's a lot of construction right now so finding parking can be a pain.
Great ambiance/ space. Airy and open.
Food was incredible and our server was also amazing. Will definitely be back
Such a great experience! We had a bigger party and so we were in a back private room which was so cool, we got to play our own music, and got such great service! Our server Brian was very informative and knew the menu very well, making great recommendations! Can’t wait to come here again!
Went for brunch and received great food and amazing service. If you're a good local, there may be a little treat for you, too.
We had a group of 5 so we got to share several items on the menu. The chef's innovative twists on simple dishes like burrata or carrots were fabulous! And the sorrel sauce with the salmon was outstanding!
Great food and the service was awesome! Nice atmosphere and its located in a great hotel
Service was slow. Food not so great. Cinnamon roll was hard and dry; I requested toasted bagel it came burnt waitress came back to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. I said yes. My friend said no BUT SHE BROUGHT TWO DRINKS AND LEFT SO QUICKLY THAT WE FIGURED FINE.
Food was fine. Nothing spectacular or must have. Service was pretty bad. Waited a long time for some pretty simple dishes. A table of two who arrived later than our table of 4 got their food before us and paid their check before we even got our food. It was very interesting. The server was friendly and personable but seemed as though she had a million other things more important than us.
The food was delish, especially the delicata squash salad. Service and atmosphere were great. Would recommend.
We were seated at a small table that was wedged between other tables. We waited very long for service and finally got up to leave.
Was so loud it was hard to talk although there were that many people there. The music was just way too loud.
This is the first time we visited this venue. It’s an upscale place in a busy neighborhood. The wine menu is limited as is the dinner menu. We ordered the salmon which was undercooked and the kale-Brussels sprouts were interesting but just ok. We might try this place again but doubtful. They do have a rooftop bar which is cool.
Food was so disappointing :(
The service wasn’t great- had to ask 4 times for my drink.
Great Food, great service, great drinks, great people watching, and to top it all off, GREAT FOOD.
- This place continues to outdo it self with creative and delicious recopies.
The Bar staff know how to mix great imaginative drinks.
the waiters and waitresses are very knowledgeable about the LOCALLY sourced food.
They may not have a million things on their menu, but what they do have, they do extremely well.
- and they are so dog friendly, they have a dogie menu...
shh - don't tell anyone, this one is a gem....
Great outdoor brunch! The cinnamon roll is one of the best ever
Good meal. Kid friendly.
7 of us went for brunch and they gave us a great table on the patio. Everyone liked their food. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs which was delicious. Another person raves about her burger. The gas station sandwich got a firm thumbs up.
The only thing I didn’t like was my Bloody Mary. It was too spicy, peppery and too strong in general. I couldn’t finish it.
The service was outstanding.
I would go back.
The food was great; it’s expensive but delicious.
I had been to City Mouse a few months ago for brunch with a group and really loved the food and ambiance. I had a girl friend in town and made reservations last minute for a Friday early dinner. City Mouse was very accommodating with my indecisiveness of time slots, so I was grateful. The service was great, and food was awesome. My friend kept commenting on how yummy the food and service was. After she left, I went inside to the bar and had a drink. Loved the bar atmosphere; it was lively and had picked up so much since our arrival at 5:30.
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. I WILL BE GOING BACK!!!!!
We had a great breakfast meeting and the service was OUTSTANDING! The location was spacious for us to speak comfortably and was exactly what we were looking for. I however, would not rate the food very highly for the dollars spent, but the amazing service will definitely keep us coming back!
it was a quiet night and a rooftop movie awaited, so the otherwise bustling hotel restaurant at the ACE was pleasantly quiet and allowed for a lot of attention from our waitress who was very helpful. The food choices are few, but what they had was very good. Décor leaves something to be desired, but the food is worth the trip.
Limited menu. Great outside area. Good food. Nice place to chill.
Kind of a bummer the patio was closed for renovation!
The waitress greeted us when we sat and we didn’t know what we wanted to drink so she was going to come back. It took her another 10 minutes to come back while she was milling around a bit aimlessly during that time. It reminded me of someone new to the service industry and was inconvenient.
Food was decent, but wish the menu had some more unique options. With how many options there are in the west loop, would have expected a better effort.
The food and decor was great, and I will definitely be back...however, we were seated so close to the table next to us that we couldn't help but hear their conversation (they were incredibly loud talkers-almost yelling), and their topic of conversation was negative, miserable, morbid and depressing. Hopefully, I won't encounter that at my next visit.
Great service, great food! It is a fun spot and has a great menu and cocktails
Nice open atmosphere
Service unenthusiastic and slow
Good spot to take a client
Great atmosphere and service. Original and fun cocktail/beer/wine menu and food menu. Kitchen was flexible to make minor
adjustments to food orders to accommodate food sensitivities.
Waiter was helpful, friendly and professional and went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was excellent.
My wife and I went on Saturday at noon and sat at the Bar. the gentleman serving the bar was outstanding not only did we eat quiet a few different items as well as cocktails he did a great job taking care of us.
The service has been great here the couple times I have dined, but the food leaves much more to be desired. For a hotel restaurant though, it’s decent.
I had the Saison, the asparagus, and half orders of pasta (bolognese and tagliatelle), which we’re all so amazing that I’m returning, this time with the family for a pre-Hamilton dinner!
Had a great experience at City Mouse for Sunday Brunch. We sat outside. It was lovely...not crowded, nice noise level, and fabulous food/drink. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating. Love that it’s also dog friendly. Can’t wait to come back with my girl J!!
