Great value and very delicate food. I love the design of the plate and also the design of the restaurant atmosphere
Love NaKorn! Not a Pad Thai in sight. Wonderfully creative food with homemade sodas that are delicious!
All dishes were too sweet! Although they did look pretty when they came out.
The branzino is my all-time favorite. It is amazing that a whole fish could be deboned and fried to perfection with wonderful flavors and still retain the shape of a whole fish. The crab bites are also really good.
This was my 3rd visit, and each has been better than the one before. Interesting and creative menu. Satisfying in every way.
We saw NaKorn on the cover of NS Luxury Magazine and had to try it. We started our experience with the grilled octopus (that's what's on NS's cover) and crab cake bites - Muah!! Wonderful. Then we moved on to Kale and Tofu (my wife is vegan) and stuffed cabbages - again both great! Tasted like the mushroom sauce was bred of a basket-full of shrooms. At that point we were so full that we ordered just one entree, the braised short ribs - what a TON of flavor in the little bowl (which we learned was from a Thai family, slow-cook recipe). Everything was complemented by coconut rice (choice of that or brown) and a side order of delectable brussels sprouts. Don't miss this Evanston gem!
I had seen the quaint dining room of NaKorn while driving by, and thought to try it - boy am I glad I did. Mind-bogglingly good. I started with something that at first seemed odd to me - watermelon with cured salmon - but I figured, "eh, why not?" OMG what a great flavor combination, and it was all I could do to just not keep ordering repeats of that one dish and call it a night! I guess it's a historic Thai king delicacy, or something, but why more places don't have dishes like this I don't know! Another thing that struck me about the menu was the variety of tastes this restaurant takes care to serve. There are great options for meat eaters (e.g., pork shank and sirloin), really, really well-though vegetarian options (e.g., tofu and kale, stuffed cabbage), and it seemed like almost everything was either gluten-free or optional gluten-free. Wow, just a lot of thought put into everything. The atmosphere is quaint, comfy and romantic, and they also had some great music on their playlist. Top Notch!
All three people in the party thought all five dishes that we ordered was tasteless, dull and little amount for the dollar. We agreed not to go back there again.
save yourself the trip, terrible food and horrible service, stay away
Disappointed. Food lacked flavor (very nice presentation but flavor missing) and quantity of appetizers was very poor too. Service just fair - waitress did not know a lot about the specialty drinks or the food which seemed odd. tables too close together and seating uncomfortable. All in all I'd say not worth the pricetag and nothing that special to warrant the prices.
