What Insiders Are Saying
Bill and Giuliana Rancic force us to like them with excellent Italian food in a trendy setting.
Anniversary dinner. Service and food were outstanding. Would definitely come back.
Extremely disappointed with service on Saturday. We were 15 min late to be seated. After we ordered it took approximately 95 min to get our food. Once I escalated to the manager, our food came out quickly. But I was very unhappy with our service.
Went for my 30th birthday and it was amazing! Our waiter, Dre was AWESOME! He made the evening so special!!! The food was SO good! We cannot wait to go back!
The food was exceptional with a great wine list. The wait staff was knowledgeable and professional
though I think could have been a little more attentive. All in all a wonderful meal and I highly recommend RM Italian.
This was our second time dining here and the first was better. The food was good but not outstanding and we were freezing most of our meal. Tons of service, for sure! I won't rush back but recommend for a scene and upscale traditional Italian.
Amazing food and crowd. Great wine and alcohol list. I’ve had a lot of great pasta in my life, but this was AMAZING!
Mama Depandi is a treasure! My friend is gluten free and was able to enjoy an amazing Italian meal without getting sick. Worth every penny!
This was our 2nd time to RPM and our experience was as good as the first. Excellent service, amazing food and great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Food flavors could be better. There doesn’t seem to be any extra attempt to make the food delicious.
Every time we come to Chicago we eat here! Love it!
I loved the atmosphere at RPM. It is perfect for a date night or a girls night out. I love that dishes are smaller to allow to try many different plates. My husband and I weren’t super hungry so we shared two pasta dishes and each choose a dessert. The waiter suggested to get an appetizer or entree as well but it was the perfect amount for us. I can’t wait to go back and to try some of their entrees.
Homemade spaghetti and authentic Italian dishes. A little pricey, but the service is wonderful.
Very nice. It was our first time in chicago and tried RPM Italian. The food was very good. The atmosphere is upscale and trendy. Be prepared to spend some money, but a it's well worth it. I had the
Roasted 1/2 chicken worh a side ofBrussel sprouts. It was were delicious!
So yummy and fun!!
It’s interesting as I rate this experience I think of three things:
1- Front entry service - unfortunate that I cannot provide 0 stars as that is what those ladies deserve. Management you have an area of leadership opportunity and training. My reservation was for 6:30, you will see by my picture we were seated at 7:13pm. While I realize I am the one who requested a booth, and this cannot be expected to always be ready at e the reservation time (that is ok) where the teaching you need to enforce comes in is - their quote of 10 to 15 mins and the promise of a text/call to my cell confirming my name and # back to me as I proceeded to the bar to purchase a bottle of wine while I waited, and waited and waited with no call or text. Finally when one of my party went to ask how much longer it would be all we got in return was “oh, oh is all your party finally here” in voice that could make you cringe after you had been waiting for 45 mins and been told they would call you when your table was ready. Our full party was there at 6:30. Our table wasn’t there a 6:30. Details are necessary for those who plan to make reservations- if timing is tight- don’t request a booth. Don’t rely on their staff to call you. You be you and wait at the front - don’t spend money at the bar.
2- Food- heavenly!! This is where thankfully the ladies at the front separate front the god experience and your real RPM experience begins. Every bite, every tastes melts in your mouth
Dishes- prosciutto tortellini- yes! Gnocchi- yes! Everything- yes! The deserts are to die for- hazelnut ball is the size of a fist and a must!!
3- Our waitress was first class! Amazing, knew every meal, recommendations- trained to perfection!) again Training departed from the front.
Great food and great service. Went there for our Anniversary and the waiter brought us out champagne on the house. They also gave us an appetizer and dessert on the house. Highly recommended!
Disappointed for how long we were made to wait for our reservation. Service was slow to get first round of drinks. Bolognese was very average, nothing special unfortunately.
My experience overall was okay, however I was very disappointed with the food!
The worst Italian food I ha e ever experienced, from the appetizers to the main entrees.
I order the stuffed peppers and it was tiny peppers with a piece of cubes cheese(cheap) I ordered the lobster(it was cold) and the salad was dry.. those were appetizers! The main entree I ordered the stuffed corn pasta(it was Terrible the sauce was poorly made, and the I order the roasted Crispy chicken🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. To say the least. I would never go back. I frequent the RPM steaks and it totally different(the food is really good there)..
Delicious food and great service. You must have some homemade pasta. Meatballs are a great appetizer but we tried a lot of things. The entree portions looked small but the plates were deep so it was a lot of food. We will definitely be back.
Amazing food! Great ambiance and beautiful place. Can’t wait to come back
Everything was fantastic, from the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the service. I wanted to give a special shout out to Jackie, who made us feel like we were her only table (though she had multiple) and making our anniversary extra special. Would recommend to anyone!
This is an expensive, trendy restaurant with OK food. Portions are very small and drinks are extremely expensive. Contemporary techno music is fairly loud and distracting to those who don’t appreciate the genre (this reviewer and spouse are in 50’s). Service was good. Decor is attractive. Overall, if your goal is to see and be seen some place hip this is for you. If your goal is a great meal and great conversation at a decent value look elsewhere.
One of the best meals Ive ever had served by the best waiter Ive ever had. Ask for Andre.
Went to RPM Italian for dinner while in town for a friend's bachelorette party. We thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to come back!!!!
It was so wonderful. New favorite restaurant!
Some of the best bites I’ve ever had Highly recommend
The food was fabulous, the service was just average. Maybe it was because it was two women having dinner, but our server was below par for RPM. Other than his lack of attention we enjoyed ourselves.
RPM was amazing! Probably the best pasta we have had in a long time. Will definitely go back next time we are in town.
From Boston to see Chicago. My daughter told me to go to RPM.
Great food and service was outstanding. The Manager was friendly and hospitable. Enjoyed it!
We had an amazing time and a wonderful waiter. I can’t wait to visit again
Highly recommended! One of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago. The food options take traditional and new Italian dishes to the next level. Their wine list is one of the best in town; particularly with wines from all over Italy.
The overall dining result is a rather engaging experience accompanied by: (a) gourmet food, (b) rare fine wines and (c) exceptional service.
The food was amazing and the serve
I try to go to RPM Italian at least 2-3x a year. As an Italian, I really appreciate their food. The prosciutto is top notch and their cavatelli is amazing - although the sauce was spicier than I prefer the last time I went. We had a fabulous booth in the back and I really appreciated that as we were celebrating my birthday and it was quieter and private. Thx all. Coming back in December!
We could not have had a better experience. It was our first time at RPM Italian and definitely not our last. Our server, Amanda, found out it was our anniversary and made sure it was a special night. The wine was great and the food was excellent (I highly recommend the fritto misto appetizer and the crispy brussel sprouts)!
We got sat late even after our reservation but other than that it was amazing!
our server was amazing
Bartender who served us dinner seemed a little full of herself ...more an attitude thing then actual service
It was incredible! Definitely coming back here over and over again! The food, the drinks, the desserts- it was all impeccable!
My only complaint about RPM Italian is that if you're only a party of two, make sure you specify you do NOT want to be seated at the tiny table next to the sommelier station. I had been there once before with a party of 4 total and had much better seating. This table was awful. We asked to be moved but they could only let us sit at the bar or give up our table and wait for another to open up in 20 minutes. So we stayed and felt in the way of foot traffic since we moved my friend's seat over so she wouldn't face the sommelier station. I was so disappointed to not give my friend the whole experience I had on my first visit. This table should not even exist for this price point. Otherwise service, food, and drinks were amazing as ever.
Great food great service great music great vibe I will be back
The fresh pasta was terrific. Our server was informative and very personable. Meatball appetizer was great
